This guitar was built as a personal project as a part of MakerEd‘s MakerCorps, during time spent as a Maker in Residence in a FabLab in Louisville, KY. With help from Nathan Spielberg, electric guitar mastermind, and Tim Rice, a boss who didn’t mind a little fun, we cut 10 guitar bodies over the course of a summer on a Desktop ShopBot. Three were entirely completed by the end of the summer, (conveniently) one for each of us. This moon-themed Stratocaster-style guitar, patterned with a heightmap of the moon that was converted into 3D via a quick Grasshopper script, was my own design.

Ideally there are more guitars on the way, to be finished during academic breaks. Once again, thanks to Nathan Spielberg for his knowledge and guidance.
