Bench

This bench was created without much of an initial plan or vision, letting the possibilities inherent in the tools used (the lathe, in particular) guide its final form. It could be considered, perhaps, only the outcome of a study of technique, a set of small experiments displayed under its seat. It is redundant; it has more legs than necessary, and the legs do not suggest any sort of progression in skill or efficiency. It does not pretend to be rational, rather creates character and personality with its inefficiencies.
