Done in Delft

Summer 2014, Instructor Siebe Bakker

Collaboration with Kevin Bloomfield, Madeline Cunningham, Oliver Hidalgo, & Lauren Townsend

The Delft Scenarios publication was produced over the course of a summer studio in Delft, Netherlands. As students from the United States, our task was to bring an outside perspective to future scenarios of the city of Delft, which we presented to the local municipality. Research was combined with interviews and analysis done by students at Leiden University, collaboratively developed in several workshops.

The particular scenario I proposed, titled Done in Delft, explored the marketability of the city on a global scale. The municipal borders contain several distinct districts, and the scenario suggests that the existing diversity can become a marketable quality of the city, creating a cohesive Delft identity from inclusion rather than exclusion.
